# Location

Device location

Used to define the location of Access Point devices. Every Access Point must have a location assigned so it can be used in reports. The Location window contains the following information:

* Name: name of the location
* Description: address details
* Location: coordinates of the location from Google Maps (Latitude, Longitude)
* Registered Date: the date this record was created
* Action: the administrator can edit or delete this Location record

Administrators can create additional Location records using the\
"Add Location" button. There are two methods:

#### Enter data into the system (Add Location)

Clicking the button opens a form for adding a Location. Fill in all required fields to create a new record. The required information is:

* Location Name: name of the device location
* Description: details about the location
* Place Name: position of the device on the map

#### Import data from a file (Import Location)

Importing Location data from a file (Import Location) requires an Excel file. The administrator can download the template file for filling in data before import by clicking the "Download Template File" button to download an Excel template. The template can be customized and edited in the Excel file.
